A combination of the evaluative and facilitative approaches as the case merits. I place listening to counsel and the parties as a priority to the process. I usually request briefs and exhibits to counsel and mediator at least 5 days in advance. Upon request, I do hold a pre-mediation or pre-arbitration status conference.


Hourly rate is $ 400.00 per hour split between the parties, for preparation and in-hearing time. Follow up communications are at the same rate, as are a second mediation on date(s) following on the same case, if agreed by all sides.

Other Information

Marc received the Outstanding Attorney Volunteer Award in 2000 from Volunteers in Parole, Inc. and in 1993 received the ACBA Individual Distinguished Service Award. He has been a Life Fellow since 2012 of the American Bar Foundation and a member of the American Bar Association since 1979. Since 1998 he is AV peer review rated in Martindale Hubbell. He is the lead author of six law review articles in the areas of insurance coverage, complicated medical injury claims, contracts and statute of frauds, worker’s compensation in California and Federal and State water rights with environmental impact. These articles have been cited in several important appellate opinions, including in the California and Iowa Supreme Courts. Marc is the Past President in 1998 of the Alameda County Bar Association and served 4 years as an officer and six years on the Board of Directors.
