Description of Practice
I have a minority-owned practice as a civil and employment mediator. In addition, I also mediate faith-based conflicts. Last, I contract as an External Ombuds for small and medium-sized organizations (I am a member of the IOA), and serve as the Tri-Chair of Membership for the Federal Bar Association, ADR Section. I have learned that many issues begin with employees feeling mistreated or undervalued. If nothing is established to rectify issues within departments, employees become disgruntled and employers retaliate out of fear or discomfort. Often times, executives are not privy to the matter until it impacts the reputation of the organization. By the time the employee has filed a claim with EEOC, the damage to the relationship is almost irreparable and both parties want to get the issue resolved quickly. Being a neutral who does not advocate for either party, but skilled at facilitating can help both sides move towards an agreement.
My background is in financial operations, process improvements, and conflict resolution among teams within the healthcare and legal industries. Further in my career, I led teams in financial operations where I facilitated resolution of conflict within groups. Because this was an area that I was skilled in (including negotiations), I decided to pursue it further as a career and continued my education in dispute resolution to accompany my M.B.A.
My dispute resolution experience comes from working at a major healthcare organization where I led teams in financial operations. My training has come from Pepperdine University and the Montgomery DRC. Also, I am currently volunteering at Dallas County Courthouse while building my mediation practice and participating in speaking engagements focused on resolving conflict in the workplace.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Technical Management at DeVry University and Magna Cum Laude with a Master in Business Administration Degree at Governors State University. My achievements also include becoming a Board Certified Integrative Mental Health Coach in 2020 during the pandemic. I completed the 40-hr Mediation training at the Montgomery DRC while working on completing my Graduate Certificate in November from Pepperdine University's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution.

My approach to dispute resolution shifts between evaluative and facilitative, depending on the stage of the dispute. I remain completely neutral and listen to each party's side while facilitating the discussion. I also have a project management background, so I am very skilled at moving the discussion along with negotiating interests.
